A tale of musical ‘gharana’ traditions, the evolution of musical tastes, family values, love, ego, conflicts and more.
The story revolves around the lead protagonists – Ritwik (Radhe) and Shreya (Tamanna), the former an aspiring hindustani classical vocalist, hailing from Jaipur’s Rathod gharana, while the latter, an well-known pop artist, chasing her dream to sing along with an international pop star.
The performances of new-comers, especially the lead male protagonist is too bubbly and amateur. But then you have Sheeba, Atul and Naseer who more than compensate it.
The music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and some of the classical compositions are sung by Shankar Mahadevan. Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty and Jonita Gandhi. People fond of Hindustani Classical music will relate to it and appreciate it more. However, since it is trying to connect with the youth you will find faster beats instead of traditional alaaps.
